The cutworm larvae kill the young seedlings or just transplanted plants at the soil surface level. They chew the plant stems at the base, also feed on roots and foliage of young plants. Then they will cut off the young plants at the soil surface level from underneath the soil. The larvae even crawl to the top of the plants and damage other parts mainly feed on the foliage during summer. The larvae even attack fruit, by making single or closely grouped holes and feed inside content. The cutworms generally feed at night and will not appear during the day, hide in soil, under clods, or in debris at the base of plants. Effectively control cut worms specially during early stages, otherwise it leads to death of seedlings.
