About Actara Insecticide
Actara Insecticide is a Syngenta product. It contains Thiamethoxam 25% WG. It is a broad-spectrum systemic insecticide with contact and stomach action.
Actara Insecticide is recommended in crops such as rice, cotton, mango, wheat, tea, tomato, brinjal, okra, mustard, potato, citrus, cumin and grapes. It works on stem borer, gall midge, leaf folder, brown plant hopper, white backed plant hopper, green leaf hopper, thrips, jassids, aphids, whiteflies, hoppers, mosquito bug, psyllids and mealy bug.

Foliar Spray and Soil Drench: Use knapsack sprayer, foot sprayer, compression knapsack sprayer, compression knapsack battery sprayer, battery operated power sprayer and ASPEE HTP power sprayer for proper crop coverage. Use soil drench only where it is specifically mentioned in the recommendation.
Best Time to Spray
- Mango: Hoppers – Apply first spray during initial pest appearance and repeat one or two sprays at 15 days interval depending on the level of pest intensity.
- Potato:
- Foliar application: Apply first spray during initial pest appearance and repeat 2–3 sprays at 10–15 days interval depending on the level of pest intensity.
- Soil drench: Apply root zone before appearance of pest as soil drench, once during the crop season.
- Cotton: Apply first spray at 25–30 DAS or at the time of first pest appearance and repeat 2–3 sprays at 15 days interval depending on the pest intensity.
- Wheat: Apply first spray during initial pest appearance and repeat one or two sprays at 15 days interval depending on the level of pest intensity.
- Tea: Apply first spray during initial pest appearance and repeat 2–3 sprays at 15–21 days interval depending on the level of pest intensity.
- Tomato: Apply first spray during initial pest appearance and repeat 2–3 sprays at 10–15 days interval depending on the level of pest intensity.
- Rice: One spray at 25–30 DAT in the early stage of the crop for control of early rice pests such as stem borer, gall midge and other pests. Other spray at the booting leaf stage (50 to 55 DAT) for control of late rice pests such as GLH, BPH, WBPH etc.
- Brinjal: Apply first spray during initial pest appearance and repeat 2–3 sprays at 10–15 days interval depending on the level of pest intensity.
- Okra: Apply first spray during initial pest appearance and repeat one or two sprays at 15 days interval depending on the level of pest intensity.
- Mustard / Rapeseed: Apply first spray during initial pest appearance and repeat one or two sprays at 15 days interval depending on the level of pest intensity.

Tank Mix Compatibility
- For field level use, consult an agronomist before tank mixing Actara Insecticide with other products.
Safety Precautions
- Wear gloves, mask, full sleeve clothing, and safety goggles while spraying.
- Do not spray on windy days to prevent spray drift.
- Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling or applying the product.
- Wash hands, face, and exposed skin thoroughly after spraying.
- Keep out of reach of children, pets, and livestock.
- Avoid direct contact with skin, eyes, and clothing.
- In case of accidental ingestion, inhalation, or eye exposure, seek immediate medical attention.
- Keep away from foodstuffs, empty food containers and animal food.
- Avoid inhaling spray mist. Spray in the direction of wind.
- Do not spray during the active bee foraging period of the day.
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry, and well ventilated place away from direct sunlight, food, feed, fertilizers, and water sources. Keep the product in its original sealed container.
