About BACF RHYXON - Verticillium chlamydosporium 1.0% WP Bio Nematicide & Bio Insecticides

Verticillium chlamydosporium (scientifically classified and widely sold as Pochonia chlamydosporia) is a naturally occurring, soil-dwelling fungus used as a potent bio-nematicide. It is commonly available in wettable powder (WP) is utilized in agriculture to organically control plant-parasitic nematodes—the microscopic soil worms that destroy plant roots.

Mode of Action

Unlike chemical pesticides that poison the soil, this fungus actively hunts and digests the pests at their earliest life stages:

Egg and Larval Parasitism: The fungus colonizes the plant's root zone (rhizosphere). It produces specialized structures that attach to, penetrate, and infect nematode eggs and juveniles.

Enzymatic Degradation: It secretes enzymes like chitinases, proteases, and serine peptidases. These dissolve the tough outer shells of the nematode eggs and the protective cuticles of the larvae.

Nutrient Consumption: Once inside, the fungus invades the developing embryo, consuming its nutrients and killing the nematode before it can hatch or grow.

Tomato

Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne incognita)

Treat the seeds with Verticillium chlamydosporium 1.0% WP @ 20 gm/kg of seeds & nursery beds with the Verticillium chlamydosporium 1.0% WP @ 50 gm/sq.m and also apply Verticillium chlamydosporium 1.0% WP @ 5 kg/ha enriched FYM* @ 5 tons/ha to the soil before transplanting.

Brinjal

Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne incognita)

Carrot

Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne incognita)

Treat the seeds with Verticillium chlamydosporium 1.0% WP @ 20 gm/kg of seeds and apply Verticillium chlamydosporium 1.0% WP @ 5 kg/ha enriched FYM* @ 5 tons/ha to the soil before transplanting.

Okra

Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne incognita)

Treat the seeds with Verticillium chlamydosporium 1.0% WP @ 20 gm/kg of seeds and apply Verticillium chlamydosporium 1.0% WP @ 5 kg/ha enriched FYM * @ 5 tons/ha to the soil before transplanting.

Dosage per Acre

For the highest efficacy, Rhyxon should be applied preventatively—before symptoms appear—as this allows the beneficial fungus time to colonize the plant surfaces.

Soil Drench / Drip Irrigation:

Dosage: Mix 500 gm per 200 Liters of water.

Application Timing: Apply through drip lines, flood irrigation, or direct soil drenching. Begin during the early propagation/nursery stage and repeat every 3 to 4 weeks to maintain a healthy root zone.

It is highly effective against Root-Knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) and Cyst nematodes (Heterodera and Globodera spp.).

Key Features & Benefits

Self-Sustaining Colony: Once applied, it establishes a living colony in the root zone, providing continuous protection that improves over the season.

High Adaptability: It can survive on organic matter in the soil (saprophytic phase) even when host nematodes are temporarily absent.

Zero Toxic Residue: It is entirely eco-friendly and leaves no chemical residues on crops, making it fully approved for certified organic farming.

Stops Root Damage: Eliminates nematode-induced root galls, lesions, and stunting, allowing the plant to develop a deep, healthy root system.

Boosts Yield and Vigor: Healthy roots absorb water and nutrients efficiently, directly resulting in stronger plants and higher crop yields.

Protects Beneficial Life: Selectively targets parasitic nematodes without harming earthworms, beneficial soil microbes, or pollinating insects.

Prevents Pest Resistance: Because the fungus uses a complex biological and enzymatic attack, nematodes cannot build resistance to it over time (unlike with chemical nematicides).

Additional Information

Do not mix with chemicals: NEVER mix this bio-fungicide with chemical bactericides, chemical fungicides, or chemical fertilizers during application. They will kill the beneficial bacteria.

Application Gap: If you must use a chemical fungicide, maintain a gap of at least 7 to 10 days between the chemical application and the Trichoderma application.

Storage: Store the packet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as high temperatures and UV rays can reduce the viability of the live bacteria.

Moisture is Key: For soil application, ensure the soil has adequate moisture so the bacteria can survive and multiply effectively.
