Crystal Cutout-38 contains 2,4-D Ethyl Ester 38% EC as its active ingredient. It belongs to the phenoxycarboxylic chemical family and is formulated as an emulsifiable concentrate (EC).

The product is used primarily for controlling broadleaf weeds in crops such as sorghum, maize, wheat, sugarcane, and paddy. Its multipurpose nature allows application to manage weeds both before and after crop emergence, enhancing flexibility and effectiveness across different crops and growth stages.

Mode of Action

Cutout-38 acts through multiple sites on weeds, disrupting growth by mimicking natural plant hormones (auxins).

This synthetic auxin effect causes uncontrolled and disorganized cell division and elongation in susceptible broadleaf weeds, leading to their death. Its systemic action allows the herbicide to be absorbed through both leaves and roots, providing effective control of weed populations throughout the crop growing season.

The product’s dual pre- and post-emergence activity helps in managing early weed competition and controlling later emerging weed flushes, contributing to better crop health and yield.
