About Multiplex Multimag
Multiplex Multimag (MgSO4) from Multiplex, is a micronutrient fertilizer containing Magnesium (9.5%) and Sulphate Sulphur (12%), suitable for all crops including Banana, Cotton, Sugarcane and other plantation crops. Magnesium is a central part of the chlorophyll molecule and is indispensable for photosynthesis, while also helping achieve high concentrations of starch in potato and sugar beet and fats in oilseeds. This Magnesium and Sulphur fertilizer for crop nutrition is applied as a foliar spray, helping keep leaves green, supporting quality yield in plantation crops, and controlling red leaf disease caused by Magnesium deficiency in cotton.

Key Roles of Nutrients in Plant Nutrition
-
Magnesium: A part of the chlorophyll in all green plants and essential for photosynthesis; it activates plant enzymes, enhances oil and fat production, and facilitates translocation of Phosphorus and carbohydrates.
-
Sulphate Sulphur: Supplied in sulphate form alongside Magnesium, supporting overall plant nutrition.
Time of Application: As a foliar spray, with the first spray 30 days after germination or transplantation, followed by additional sprays at 20 to 25 days intervals during the cropping season.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Essential for Photosynthesis: Magnesium occupies the central spot in the chlorophyll molecule and is indispensable for photosynthesis.
-
Boosts Starch & Oil Formation: Helps achieve higher concentrations of starch in potato and sugar beet, and fats in oilseeds.
-
Keeps Leaves Green: Particularly important for Banana, which requires more Magnesium than Phosphorus to keep leaves green.
-
Controls Red Leaf Disease in Cotton: Magnesium deficiency causes red leaf disease in cotton; timely sprays help in its control.
-
Supports Plantation Crop Quality: Considered among the key nutrients for plantation crops like Banana, Cotton and Sugarcane to produce quality yield.
Multiplex Multimag Dosage & Recommended Crops
Recommended Crops: All crops, including banana, cotton, sugarcane and other plantation crops.
Method of Application and Dosage:
Foliar Spray: Dissolve 500 gm in 200 litre of water and spray liberally on both surfaces of the leaves.
Best Time to Spray: Give two foliar sprays during the cropping period, the first after 30 days of germination or transplantation, with the second at an interval of 20 to 25 days; for Cotton, three sprays are recommended to help control red leaf disease.

Multiplex Multimag Expert Advice
"Multiplex Multimag works best when sprayed a few weeks after germination or transplanting, with a repeat spray at recommended interval later to keep leaves green and support photosynthesis through the season. For cotton, an extra spray helps in managing red leaf disease linked to Magnesium deficiency." – BigHaat Agronomy Expert
Additional Information
- Magnesium deficiency commonly occurs in areas with high rainfall or wet regions, especially in light and acid soils.
- The predominant symptom of Magnesium deficiency is interveinal chlorosis, with the bottom leaves usually affected first, showing curled tips and narrower blades.
