About Thioxam Insecticide
Thioxam Insecticide (Thiamethoxam 25% WG) by Katyayani is a broad-spectrum systemic insecticide with contact and stomach action. It is used for sucking pests and other labelled insect pests in rice, cotton, okra, mango, wheat, mustard, tomato, brinjal, tea, potato, citrus, cumin and grapes. Katyayani Thioxam is effective against stem borer, gall midge, leaf folder, plant hoppers, thrips, aphids, jassids, whiteflies, mosquito bug, psylla, mealy bug and flea beetle. Apply through foliar spray or soil drenching at the initial stage of pest infestation as recommended for the crop.

Mode of Entry: Systemic, contact and stomach action
Mode of Action: Thioxam is rapidly absorbed by treated plants and transported to different plant parts. Target insects take up the active ingredient while feeding on treated plant tissue or through direct contact. Thiamethoxam interferes with nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect central nervous system. This disrupts normal nerve signal transmission and eventually causes paralysis of the target insect.
Time of Application: Apply Thioxam at the initial stage of pest infestation. Crop specific repeat application intervals should be followed wherever mentioned in the recommendation.

Method of Application
- Foliar Spray: Apply Thioxam as a foliar spray using the crop specific dose and water volume mentioned in the dosage table. Prepare a uniform spray solution and ensure proper coverage of the crop.
For tomato, apply the first foliar spray at the initial appearance of whitefly and repeat 2 to 3 sprays at intervals of 10 to 15 days depending on pest intensity.
For brinjal, apply the first spray at the initial appearance of whitefly and repeat 2 to 3 sprays at intervals of 15 to 21 days depending on pest intensity.
For grapes, apply the first foliar spray when the pest reaches the economic threshold level. Repeat one spray after 10 to 15 days depending on pest severity.
- Soil Drenching: Thioxam is also recommended for soil drenching in potato, rice nursery, tomato and grapes according to the crop specific recommendation.
For tomato, apply near the root zone after transplanting as a soil drench once during the crop season.
For grapes, apply the first soil drench immediately after pruning. Follow with another drenching after 30 to 40 days, coinciding with the berry development stage. Apply near the root zone of the vines.
