About Sunrice herbicide
Sunrice herbicide is a systemic, post-emergence containing Ethoxysulfuron 15% WDG. It is used for the effective control of broadleaf weeds and sedges in transplanted rice and sugarcane. It helps to reduce weed competition for water, nutrients, sunlight, and space.
Technical Name
Ethoxysulfuron 15% WDG
Product Specifications
Mode of Entry: Systemic
Time of Application: Early post-emergence (5-10 days after transplanting)
Mode of Action: Ethoxysulfuron belongs to the sulfonylurea group of herbicides. It is absorbed through both leaves and roots and translocated throughout the weed plant.
It inhibits the Acetolactate Synthase (ALS) enzyme, which is essential to produce amino acids required for plant growth. Once this process is disrupted, weed growth stops and the weeds gradually die.
Sunrice herbicide Key Features & Benefits
- Safe for rice when used as recommended.
- Easy to handle and mix due to its water-dispersible granule (WDG) formulation.

- Visible Effects:
Weed growth stops within a few days after application.
Yellowing and chlorosis generally appear within 7–10 days.
Complete weed control may take 2–3 weeks depending on weed species and environmental conditions.
