Pusa Basmati 1718 is a disease-resistant, high-quality Basmati paddy variety developed by ICAR-IARI, suitable for cultivation in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana or Basmati growing regions.
It produces extra-long slender aromatic grains and is ideal for both rural and large-scale farming.

Semi-dwarf, non-lodging, and non-shattering Basmati variety with seed-to-seed maturity of typically 143 days.
MAS-derived near-isogenic line (NIL) of the popular Pusa Basmati 6.
Carries two bacterial blight resistance genes (xa13, Xa21) and two blast resistance genes (Pi54, Pi2).
Grains are extra-long slender (7.77 mm) with excellent kernel elongation on cooking (15.21 mm).
Cooked rice has flaky appearance, tenderness, desirable taste and optimum aroma.
Eliminates need for antibiotics and fungicides for blight and blast management.
Average yield: Up to 4.49 t/ha | Plant height: typically, 95 cm.
