Cultar (Paclobutrazol 23% w/w, 25% w/v SC) by Syngenta India is a systemic plant growth regulator that inhibits gibberellin biosynthesis to control vegetative growth in trees and crops. It effectively reduces internode length and encourages earlier terminal bud formation in mango, pomegranate, and apple, inducing flowering and enhancing yield, fruit colour, and harvest quality. In cotton and groundnut, it restricts excess vegetative growth reducing the shedding of squares and bolls in cotton to improve retained yield. It is applied as a single soil drench in fruit trees or as a foliar spray in cotton, groundnut, and apple, in recommended crops.

Mode of Action: Paclobutrazol's principal mode of action is the inhibition of gibberellin biosynthesis. Taken up through stem tissue or roots, it is translocated to the sub-apical meristems, where it controls tree vigour by reducing the internode length of new shoots and encouraging earlier formation of terminal buds favourably influencing fruit bud production, fruit colour, and harvest yield.
Time of Application: Soil drench after harvest or at the dormant stage for fruit trees, or foliar spray timed to key vegetative and flowering windows.

Note: For Mango, If the soil is sandy, the application rate may be reduced to 75% of the recommended quantity. For repeat use in Paclobutrazol-treated orchards, the application rate in subsequent years can be reduced to 50–75% of the first-year rate. Irrigate lightly soon after application, and subsequently once or twice a month.
Method of Application: Soil Drench or Foliar Spray, depending on the crop. For soil drench, apply in a furrow 5–10 cm deep, about 30 cm away from the trunk (mango), or as a ring-form furrow 5–7 cm deep around the active root zone (pomegranate, apple), then cover with soil. For foliar spray, use a high-volume knapsack sprayer.
Best Time to Apply: Apply strictly in the direction of the wind to prevent prolonged exposure to spray mist, and do not underdose or overdose.
Consult an agronomist before tank-mixing with other fertilizers, insecticides, or fungicides.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the product in its original sealed container.
