Pusa Basmati 1847 is a scientifically improved Basmati paddy variety released by ICAR-IARI in 2021.
Developed from Pusa Basmati 1509 through Molecular Marker Assisted Breeding, it delivers all the premium Basmati grain qualities of PB-1509 while adding powerful genetic resistance to Bacterial Blight and Blast disease.

High-yielding Basmati variety with seed-to-seed maturity of typically120 days.
Semi-dwarf, non-lodging, non-shattering and high-yielding plant structure.
Carries two bacterial blight resistance genes (xa13, Xa21) and two blast resistance genes (Pi54, Pi2).
